OS X Dock patent…

Apple has patented the OS X Dock according to http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/10/08/apple_patents_osx_dock/ … So what’s next? Is this the end of the Avant Window Navigator. kooldock and Cairo-dock???

    Probably yes.
    But this could mean two things - 1. end of stupid copying of the one and same feature over and over and never go it well enough to compare with the original
    and 2. time to be creative and think out of the box - for a more intuitive and user friendly yet eye-candied and pretty manner to operate with the desktop objects.

    Time will show.
